My husband can attest… I’m a little obsessed with chalkboard paint. I even told him last night that we should go ahead and paint the entire kitchen, making it one huge chalkboard!
While he didn’t go for that, he did paint some nice, big rectangles in various rooms… One in the kitchen to make notes of recipes, to-dos, etc… One in the dinning room for Jett to use in the future (the Jetter Cheeseboard, if you will), and a couple in the music room/studio. I think he’s planning to paint another space in Jett’s room, too! So fun!
Aside from being useful, these chalkboards will be so fun for Jett, dong you think?! In an article I read the other day, some chick said she thought of her kids when planning/designing almost every room in the house, and, of course, she had painted a chalkboard in the living room… That made me think, and also inspired me to not only paint a useful chalkboard in the kitchen, but also in various places around the house for Jett (and us, too!).
Ryan thinks that Jett’s chalkboards might encourage writing on other, non-chalkboard walls, but I’m hoping that since he’ll have his own creative wall space, he won’t feel the need to venture beyond that. Maybe that’s just wishful thinking? We’ll see, and for now we’ll just have fun with our new chalkboards!
