Late Saturday night, my grandfather passed away… Since then, I’ve been thinking lots about the impact he’s had on our lives since he married my grandmother 22 years ago…

First and foremost, he greeted my grandmother’s crazy family with open arms. We were all pretty young - I was the oldest grandchild, 9 at the time, and my brother and Richard were the youngest at 3. So, you can imagine how crazy that must’ve been (especially if you know Zac and Richard!).

Secondly, the thing I will ALWAYS remember and treasure about him was his desire to make everyone THINK. This man had a knack for a good conversation. He really pushed all of us to think critically and, for me at least, inspired us to never stop learning.

And, of course, I’ll never forget his fashion sense (or lack thereof, so Grama thought)… I once overheard her telling him that he simply MUST stop buying jeans at Walmart (I’m sure she was telling him this out of love, of course).

So, thank you, Grandpa Ed, for the memories, and the inspiration. And most of all, for making my Grama happy! We love you.
