Project:Simplify - Creating Inspiration Boards

The picture above is from one of the many blogs I scroll through daily as I check out my blog subscriptions (www.buymodernbaby.com). While I love the nursery design, there’s something bigger I took from this particular post: The value of using an inspiration board to define a clear direction when planning to re-decorate, re-model, etc.

This is a no-brainer to some people, I know, but I think I just had one of those lightbulb moments…

Basically, this chick took a print that she wanted to hang in her son’s nursery, paired that with a few color/pattern samples, and voila - A vision was born. This allowed her to use her inspiration board (That’s what I’m calling it, at least) as a guide when making decisions as to what to purchase/create/etc. for the nursery.

Duh, right?!

I just feel like I’ve never been that organized… And creating an inspiration board for rooms I’d like to re-do would be a very logical starting point. That way, my purchases, etc. would be a little more deliberate.

If you have any experience with using inspiration boards, please let me know! I’d love to learn more about what has/hasn’t worked for you!

As for a little Project:Simplify update… I was able to add quite a lot to my yard-sale mountain after I cleaned out a few kitchen cabinets last weekend. I wasn’t even aware that I owned a slow cooker or that I had not one, but TWO blenders, if that tells you anything. Who knows what I’ll find this weekend!

TGIF!
