I believe this face answers the question ‘are you ready for some football?!’
LOL
On Saturday morning, as I stepped outside to feed Charlie, I was thrilled to find that there was a chill in the air! Could it be? Is it almost fall?
I’m not sure if it was the promise of my season, or maybe I just woke up on the right side of the bed… I was ready. And so I spent the weekend doing some fall-like things.
Like making chicken chili. I even soaked the beans, which I had never done before. It was a pretty long process (one that I repeated twice after messing up the first batch), but the beans were more flavorful and had a better texture than their canned cousins.
We also spent a fair amount of time cheering on our fave football teams. They both lost, but I suppose there’s always next week!
Anyway, I wholeheartedly welcome the upcoming season of chilly noses and falling leaves. And pumpkin spice lattes, of course.
It’s easy to feel a little defeated by late-August/early-September, but with the cooler temperatures, fall seems to always bring a sense of energy.
