Move to the music

That pic was taken mid-dance-move a couple weeks ago... Jett loves music and LOVES to dance! He starts to bounce and does this cute little head nod every time he hears anything resembling music. It's so freakin' cute! And he really seems to enjoy moving to the music... Like it's the most natural thing.

I was thinking about this at yoga last night as I was listening to the (live) music, and trying to follow the teacher's advice to "move with the music". She encouraged us, telling us that the body loves to move to music, and that it's such a natural, primal thing to do. (On a side note, The Yoga Room in Tulsa is amazing, especially the $5 class on Wednesday evening - with live music! If you live in the area, you MUST go!)

It's true - obviously - that dancing is such a natural, wonderful, soul-nourishing thing to do... But at some point (maybe in those awfully awkward teen years?), we seem to become embarrassed/scared/wanting-to-be-like-everyone-else and don't allow ourselves to dance, at least not in the way we should.

So let's dance! Let's learn from our children and dance!

Just something I've been pondering and wanted to put out there...

XO
