Cherry Street Adventures

Happy Monday! Errrr... Tuesday?!

A few weeks ago we ventured out to the Cherry Street Farmer's Market (a MUST if you live in Tulsa or are visiting for the weekend!).

The market is great... Not only is there an abundance of fresh produce, meats and dairy, there's also live music, local restaurants AND gorgeous flowers. So much fun for the whole family. Whenever we go to the market, we tend to arrive towards the end (it starts so early - 7 a.m.!), so I'm sure there's even more to be found for the early birds.

Anyway, here are some pictures from our recent market trip...

Oh, and of course Deacon got some work done while he was there...

We ended our adventure at the Coffee House on Cherry Street, which is such a great, cozy little coffee shop!

Staycation Pt. 1

As I'm in the midst of yet ANOTHER staycation (my sister is town this week - woo hoo!), I thought I'd go ahead and post about a recent staycation we had a few weeks ago when my dad and brother were in Tulsa...

Staycations are awesome, especially when you are new to a city... They give you the perfect excuse to seek out restaurants and events that you've heard about but haven't yet tried.

We started the weekend off right with a little Mexican food at El Tequila (one of our new favorite spots in Tulsa... It's seriously a score - Cheap and delicious Tex-Mex - Can't go wrong with that, can you?!). On Saturday, we finally made it out to the Philbrook museum. The Philbrook is free on the second Saturday of each month, so I figured it was definitely the perfect time to go! Be sure to keep an eye and ear out for free events at your local museums!

The Philbrook was amazing! Not only did we enjoy viewing the current and more modern exhibits, the seemingly endless gallery rooms were filled with breathtaking pieces of art from centuries past. The gardens were also quite amazing - It'd be nice to go on a cool Fall day (which is what we all thought as we 'swam' though the humidity).

We capped Saturday with a trip to our local Irish pub - Kilkenny's! We love the place, and seem to go at least a couple times a month. Here's Zac giving his best Irish face. LOL

On Sunday before they left, we took my dad and Zac to Fat Guys Burger Bar (we were all totally blown away by the deliciousness! GO!) and then listened to some music at the Guthrie Green, which is one of those local spots that you wonder what the city did without it. Not only are there free concerts weekly... There are also free fitness classes and more! SO great!

So yes... We had a great weekend! So much fun!
