So… it’s been awhile!
September was undoubtedly one of the BUSIEST months of my entire life!
We started out the month with a visit from Ryan’s mom and stepfather… So fun! During their visit, we shopped (they were so generous and bought us housewarming gifts from West Elm and Lowe’s - so wonderful!), dined (went to some of our favorite places - Pizze Real, Cantina Laredo, Far East, Eastland Cafe and Boscos), and just had an overall great time.
After the visit with the inlaws, we had a quiet week before I headed to Atlanta on business. Our next house guests - Ryan’s BFF Jimmy and his girlfriend, Kori - arrived before I returned from Atlanta, so that was a whirlwind of a week. We had a blast with Jimmy and Kori though, celebrating three bdays (Ryan’s, Jimmy’s & Ali’s) in style. I also had my first trip to Goodwill, thanks to Kori, and am now addicted! Srsly… I found FOUR awesome tops, AND two books - all for under $25! Plus, the hunt for treasures is half the fun of it!
A couple days after Jimmy and Kori left, Ryan’s dad and his girlfriend were in Nashville. Most people would say “whoa, that’s a lot of visits from the in-laws?!”, but really, I couldn’t ask for better in-laws. In fact, I feel lucky that I have two sets of great in-laws! And, don’t worry, mom & dad… Ryan feels the same about you guys! I guess we’re just lucky to have awesome parents! While Ryan’s dad and his girlfriend were in town we (of course) dined (Bosco’s, Goten and Ted’s Montana Grill), and were entertained by Ryan’s performance with Michael McDonald and the Nashville Symphony… another great weekend!
Speaking of Ryan’s gig with the symphony… He sang back-up for Mike for three nights - how exciting!? It was really a great show, and I was so proud of him - he sounded great, as usual! Besides the symphony gigs, he has also played (or is scheduled to play) 7 shows in September and October (SIX of those are in October!)…
So… as you can see, we’ve been quite busy! And it doesn’t seem to be slowing down, so I’m just trying to take deep breaths and enjoy the ride! (And I guess this long-winded account of my September is my “excuse” for being such a lame blogger… I’ll try harder, I promise!)
