On Sunday, Linny, Jett and I ventured out to the new Cumberland Park, which was really quite impressive. The grand opening celebration was at 1:30, so I figured it might be a little crazy… It was pretty packed, but we were able to walk around the entire park and enjoy delicious key lime cupcakes from Cupcake Collection in a little under an hour.
The park features a climbing wall, fountains for kids (and adults!) to play in, a rain curtain, a huge sandbox where kids can dig up “dinosaur bones”, a huge slide, a stage for bands (or for a puppet show, which is what was happening when we were there), and lots of other fun stuff.
What a great thing for the river front and for the city! The place is just awesome… For kids and adults alike. I am definitely going to be taking advantage of the fountain/rain curtain in the summer months. Who’s with me?!
