Summer!

With all the grilling and temperatures in the mid-90’s, this weekend definitely felt like the unofficial start of summer!

On Sunday, we went over to Aunt Linny’s for a cookout. She had just filled up a pool on her patio, so Jett was able to go for his first “swim” - so fun! He loved it, as I figured he would, since he has always loved baths. He especially loved wading through the water (with our help, of course), and playing (or trying to eat) his pirate rubber duckie…

We went to a cookout in Leipers Fork yesterday, which was also a blast. I was excited to take Jett out there for many reasons, including the amazing country-like feel of the area (he LOVES being outside - seriously - the kid will just sit and stare at the trees). He seemed to love meeting lots of new people at the party, including a four-month-old baby girl (I don’t think she enjoyed meeting Jett as much as he enjoyed meeting her, as she started crying soon after - he’s breaking hearts already - ha!). We all had a great time, and the experience just solidified how much fun it is to be a parent, introducing your child to new and exciting things.

I’m more excited about summer this year than I have been in years… I believe I have Jett to thank for that. There are so many fun summer things for kids to look forward to - cant wait!

Yay summer!
