I’m pretty sure he’s thinking… “Mom! Rice cereal again?!”
I’ve tried the stuff, and it’s not great… I keep thinking that if I wouldn’t eat the stuff, why should I expect him to want to? I think we might be moving on to broader (more exciting) culinary experiences in the near future.
The whole eating solid foods thing is so hard to get a handle on. I mean, I know they say “Food before one is just for fun”, but I keep wondering how much/how often I should be feeding him. Right now, I’m just going with the flow and following his cues. We’ve tried rice cereal and carrots so far. He’s not crazy about either, but also doesn’t seem to hate either. We’re working at about a one to one ratio of food that ends up inside/outside his mouth.
Lately, I’ve been offering him something at least a few times a week, usually around our dinner time (so that he feels he’s part of it). I’d love to hear about everyone else’s experiences when it comes to introducing solids… It’s a lot of fun, but of course I also wonder constantly if I’m doing this right. :)
