I think I found the album of summer… Boys & Girls by Alabama Shakes!
I’m sure you’ve heard of them, but have you listened to them? This album is one of those soulful, warm (dare I say sweaty?) albums that fits perfectly with lazy days, homegrown tomatoes and fireflies.
Albums are very seasonal to me… I’m not sure if I just wear out certain albums at certain time of the year, but it’s very clear to me that ‘Jacksonville City Nights’ by Ryan Adams belongs in Fall, ‘The Midnight Organ Fight’ by Frightened Rabbit belongs in Winter, and this album… This album is Summer. And after summer is over, we’ll have it to keep us warm on the cool fall nights.
