O Christmas Tree!

Last night we decorated the Christmas tree... Since it's Jett's first Christmas tree, I wanted everything to be extra special/perfect.

First, we turned on the Christmas music and I started a pot of turkey chili. Ryan got out the tree and decorations. Everything was going smoothly until we sat down to eat the chili.

First of all, it's good to note that Jett has had chili before, and he really seemed to like it. And last night's chili was on the mild side (I like to add Tabasco to my bowl, so as to leave the heat out of Jett's portion), and of course I made sure it was cool enough for him to eat.

Bottom line: he did NOT like it and did a very good job of telling us. I wasn't sure if it was the chili or the cornbread, so I alternated bites of each. After every bite, he opened his mouth in disgust and let out a wail. I even snuck in a few bites after we had switched to apple sauce, just to see if he'd change his mind. And he didn't. I guess we will just have to try again next time we make chili.

After dinner, it was close to bedtime, and the tree was only semi ready. I went ahead and put a few ornaments, and since it is pre-lit, we went ahead and turned it on so that Jett could see it before bedtime.

So yeah... The evening wasn't all cozy-fire-burning-while-we-sipped-cocoa-and-trimmed-the-tree, but it was perfect... Perfect for us.

Next up: Christmas cards and a photo with Santa!
