There was, however, always one bright and shiny "pro" atop my list: spending more time with my beautiful baby boy.
Yes, I was planning to leave the 9-5 world and join the ranks of the stay-at-home moms... Sorta.
You see, I knew I'd still need to bring home a paycheck. A modest one, but a paycheck anyway. After considering my options (administrative assistant? substitute teacher?), I realized that, unless I worked from home (or had a very flexible schedule), I'd basically be handing my check over to Jett's daycare.
Enter Stella & Dot.
I first heard about Stella & Dot when I was invited to my sister's roommate's trunk show. Even though I wasn't able to make it, my sister's enthusiasm when she told me she was thinking of becoming a stylist was quite contagious. That conversation definitely planted a seed, and I kept thinking about it until I jumped in and ordered my starter kit (I mean, it was $199 for $450 of jewelry and accessories - c'mon!).
And I'm so, so, SO glad I did! I'm still learning so much about the business, but I'm having so much fun! I absolutely love the product (there's no way I'd sell it if I didn't!), and I'm really enjoying getting out of my comfort zone to socialize, etc.
Of course, the flexible schedule is also so perfect for us, since I'm able to get some work in during naptime, and I can schedule trunk shows as my schedule allows.
Srsly. I love it!
