A little over a month ago, two of my favorite gals - Linny and Ali - threw a shower for us. They put so, so much work into it, and it showed! They know me well - and they’re aware of my distaste for lame games (Name the melted candy bar in the diaper? Um, no thanks!) - so it was just a perfect baby shower, in our opinion.
Everything was so pretty and tasteful, from the decorations to the food to the activities. One of my favorite decorations was a garland that they created with a bunch of our baby pictures - so fun!

Guess who is who! :)
The food was also fabulous, of course! Much of the food (inadvertently, I think) was very compatible with my insatiable craving for sweets. They made cake pops, doughnut holes, cookies, and cupcakes… Oh, and there was a delicious egg dish and mini quiche, too, but my sights were set on the sweets!

Hungry yet?
They also set up a onesie-making station, which was amazing! Almost everyone created a onesie using the (non-toxic) paint and stencils that were supplied (The more adventurous of the group even tried a little free-hand design!)…

Crafty, eh? The onesie-making station was a hit! All of Jett’s little onesies are now washed and ready for him to wear. I know it’ll be so much fun to dress him in the very special onesies and tell him who made them for him!
So, yeah… it was a blast. And honestly, a little overwhelming. We were so grateful to everyone who came to celebrate with us, and very thankful for all of the gifts! Later that night, Ryan and I talked about how blessed we were to have such wonderful friends in Nashville. Seriously, it was touching. :)
Following are a few more pics from the party…

And of course, our wonderful hosts…

Oh! And I can’t forget to mention the wonderful mural that Walker made for the shower (and that is now on display in Jett’s room!)…

We’ve got somewhat of an elephant theme going on in his room!
A couple weeks after the lovely shower thrown by Linny and Ali, my friends at work threw me a shower. I was completely blown away, yet again, by the generosity and thoughtfulness of my Nashville peeps! First of all, I never expected them to throw a shower, and secondly, it was so cute and wonderful! And thoughtful!
The morning of the shower, I was told that I wasn’t allowed in the conference room until the noon shower… Which killed me! It was worth the wait, though… When I walked in and was greeted by their amazing and creative decorations. My favorite decoration was the banner that my friend Mende made to welcome Jett…

… Part of which is now hanging in his room!
I wish I had more pictures from my office shower, but I was too busy eating the delicious food and opening the wonderful presents! They kept me pretty busy! :)
So, to everyone who had any part in either shower: We thank you! So, so much. You’ll never know how much the showers meant to us… We’ll cherish the memories forever and tell Jett all about the parties when he’s older!
Oh, and here’s my latest bump pic… I failed to take one yesterday, so I’ll just post the one from last week, at 36 weeks.

I’m still feeling pretty good, but starting to feel H-U-G-E. Like OMG huge. We’re getting so much done around the house, and I hope to tie up a few loose ends this weekend. After that, I hope to feel more prepared, just in case… It’s hard to believe that the little guy will be here in just a few weeks! I can’t decide if I’m terribly nervous, or terribly excited, or a combination of both!
Until next time… xoxo
