Can we have it all?

LOVE this article about "why women can't have it all" that a friend posted on Facebook this morning!

Life can be exhausting when you're trying to "have it all" and be perfect in all areas of life, so it's definitely refreshing to hear this woman's take on how we can manage.

For awhile, I've told myself that I can "have it all", but not in all areas of my life, all at the same time. So, if I'm supermom-ing it out, my social life might be suffering a little. Or, if I've completed a huge work project, my floor might not be swept. It's all about the balance, I suppose.

It's been an interesting year for me - going from working full time to now staying at home with my little guy. It's been eye-opening to see things from two very different perspectives. For me, they both come with sacrifices and joys, challenges and rewards. But they have both had a common goal: To build the best life possible for my family. I'm so glad that I have gotten the chance to fully appreciate both, though, no matter what the future may hold for me, career-wise.

And here's a little wisdom from Ms. Spar:
The most crucial thing for women to know today? No one does it all. We each, if we're lucky, will have our chance to leave a mark on the world, but we are trying too hard to be perfect. So don't emulate Wonder Woman; think about what's wonderful to you instead. Then boldly, audaciously, joyfully, leave the rest behind.
